Inspired by the classic noir film style, the album is an energetic rock opera of gangsters, vampires, betrayal and petty revenge set against the seedy underbelly of the post-prohibition era. The story follows anti-heroes turned reluctant partners Archie Walker and Josie Belue on their quest to topple kingpin Harold “The Diamond” Helsinger from the throne of his bootlegging empire, as chronicled by private investigator, Max Rudolph.

Signed by the band, includes access to the 44-page digital companion booklet.

lyrics

Archie:
Well all your life you’ve been a footstool, yes you have
Just admit it: You never won.
But there was always just this nagging little voice in your head
And it said, “don’t listen to them,”
Well maybe truth is they were wrong and you were wrong
and everyone was wrong
And the third, less loud but half as lousy little voice
was the real one all along
I won’t say I did, I won’t say I didn’t
But between us both I probably did the same damn thing
the same enough kind of way
and the price I had to pay was great
I was a fool once too, Just like you.

Well I may not know where my soul will go but if it’s up to me,
I will go where the fires glow and you can come with me

Josie:
“Oh Poor Thing” You must think that she’ll never get herself off the ground.
Well I did. Got back from the grave, mud on my face,
and tell me who could wear it as well?
In my case, it was the glitz game and the cheap champagne.
Blame the man with the diamond eye, not me.
Pay your respects, I’m the best you’re gonna get
and you can tell me when you’re ready to play

Archie: I was a fool once too. Just like you.
Josie: Who you think you’re talking to?

Both:
I may not know where my soul will go but if it’s up to me
I will go where the fires glow and you can come with me

Archie:
I see the point that you’re making
And I’m not saying you’re faking
Josie: faking?
Archie: only exaggerating.
I’ll give you this, you sound jaded
And I could be persuaded to let you help me bring an end to this guy
We’ll make a big dumb ring out of his big dumb diamond eye
And guess what?
Josie: what?
Archie: when I’ve offed-with-his-head, and I’ve danced on his grave,
Josie: I get the fame
Archie: You get his cane.
Well, maybe not his cane. His scarf, or... shoe laces or something...
Josie: No No No, the last thing I need is another freak
Who can’t seem to choose between which side he’ll be
I’ve been there
Archie: Uh Huh.
Josie: and I’ve done it
Archie: Okay.
Josie: I’ve learned better than to settle with a fool who meddles
Archie: handsome devil
Both: With Ghouls Running the streets
Josie: So I grant permission
Archie: under my conditions
Both: I’m the one that makes him bleed

Archie: You’re a Liar
Josie: You’re a Liar
Both: I’ve said repeatedly
Archie: You’re a Phony
Josie: You’re a Phony
Both: And That’s all you’ll ever be
Archie: I don’t need you, half as bad as
Josie: I Don’t Need You
Both: you need me

Archie: I was a fool once too. Just like you.
Josie: Who you think you’re talking to

Both: I may not know where my soul will go but if it’s up to me
Josie: I know it’s up to me
Both: I will go where the fires glow and you can come with me
